Taking a crate on a bicycle for the first time can be exciting for dogs. Bicycle front carriers are available that are attached to the frame rather than the front wheel. That makes a crate for the bike a lot more stable and less scary for the dog (and owner). Always put a mat or blanket at the bottom to prevent the nails or toes from getting stuck between the crevices at the bottom of the crate.
Give your dog a reward when put in the crate and cycle first short pieces to nice places; for example a park or with friends or family where your dog likes to come. Or go for a walk and play with your dog. This makes cycling and the crate fun and you can continue cycling.
It is also wise to attach a leash in the crate so that your dog cannot jump or fall out of the crate. P >
Put your dog on a harness instead of a collar and attach the leash to the harness. I wish you lots of cycling fun!
