Do not skip these destinations when traveling through Norway

© copyright Columbus Travel 2020 Columbus Norway is perfect for a car trip in the summer, a walking holiday in spring or fall and ideal for winter sports in the winter. Whatever you are going to do, these destinations are beautiful every season and you should not miss them.

Discover the hidden gem of Tromsø

Community member Esther made a very nice hike to Blaisvatnet or the Blue Lake. "This mountain lake is located in the Lyngen Alps at the foot of the Lenangsbreen Glacier in northern Norway near Tromsø.

The hike is a total of 9 kilometers and although it is about stones and boulders it is to do well. You walk the first kilometer along a river bed which turns into a wide old glacier tongue. The last tens of meters go over large boulders. This is the spiciest part. The sting is in his tail. You only see the Blue Lake when you are over the boulders. The lake pops out in color in sunny weather You can start the hike from the parking lot located on road Fv312, 16 kilometers from Svensby. "

Kayaking through the ice in the Lofoten

Community member iumbgrove: 'It was an indescribably beautiful experience to paddle through the ice with a kayak in the winter. Now the weather was great too, it was completely windless and the sun gave a surreal light over the frozen fjord. We first hoisted ourselves in a thermopack and then we stepped into the kayak with some uncertainty. Then it went naturally into the smooth water of the Reinefjord. The further we enter the fjord, the more the water surface changes to ice. When we put down the paddles for a moment we realized that we could almost hear the silence. What an incredibly beautiful environment. An experience to remember!

Community member Ina Wisse also loves the Lofoten. She took this beautiful photo with which she became the monthly winner of the #mynorwaystories photo competition. Congratulations Ina, the Fjällräven bag is coming your way.

Take a city trip to Oslo

© Offered by Columbus Travel

Community member Jolanda Sprokholt made this beautiful vista in Oslo from the museum or modern art to the town hall. According to her, Oslo is perfect for a city trip. "The city has a lot to offer: the beautiful Museum of Modern Art in the new Tuvholmen district, the old heart of the city with the town hall, the Nobel Peace Center and the large Akershus Festning Castle. The modern opera house and the king's palace are also beautiful. But in addition to beautiful buildings, the city also has a cozy city center with shops and restaurants. A long weekend is actually too short for this nice city. "

Breathtaking views in the Jothunheimen National Park

The hike over the Besseggen ridge is one of the most beautiful walks that community member Philip has done in Europe. "Challenging, adrenaline, beautiful views, this hike has it all. Quite busy in high season on the steepest part, but certainly doable. "

Only on the Preikestolen

© Offered by Columbus Travel

The Preikestolen is a high cliff, 600 meters above the Lysefjord, in the municipality of Forsand. The flat rock of about 25 by 25 meters gives you a view over the fjords and mountains of Norway. The start of the official hiking route to the rock is about four kilometers from Preikestolen and is marked with large stones. Preikestolen is one of the top attractions in the country. Community member Jesse was there in the winter and it was hardly visited. He also finds the landscape more beautiful in the winter.
