Do you find yourself increasingly choosing to watch a series or movie rather than reading a book? Don't feel guilty because in this time when every movie or series is available to watch, it is also very tempting.

If you want to be a nicer person, it is important that you keep reading regularly. This is shown by research conducted by Kingston University in London. The participants who indicated in their research that they prefer to watch TV appeared less friendly than the people who prefer to read a book. They also turned out to be less understanding than the real bookworms.

What you read also influences your empathy. Novel lovers turned out to be the most empathetic and people who read a lot about nature turned out to be more social. The people who read humorous books have longer relationships.

According to the researchers, reading fiction can improve your social skills. However, concrete conclusions cannot be drawn from the study. It could also be that emotional people like to read more.

Whether it makes you friendlier or not, reading is good for the brain, so try to keep doing it.
