Anyone who wears their jewelry every day knows that from time to time they need a cleaning to keep it shining. There is only one problem: there is no point (or time) in going to the jeweler and leaving them there for a wash. And that is absolutely unnecessary, according to the jewelery designer of none other than Queen Elizabeth.
In the book, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, The Dresser and the Wardrobe, written by the personal (jewelry) designer of Queen Elizabeth, Angela Kelly , the tip for cleaning diamonds is released.
"A little gin and water are useful to give diamonds an extra sparkle, just don't tell the jeweler!" wrote Kelly. In addition to this tip, she has devised a whole host of other cleaning methods to make Queen Elizabeth's precious accessories shine like never before.
"A drop of washing up liquid and water will make hair spray stains disappear." "The Queen's jeweler will give the stones a deep clean if necessary, so for me it's just a matter of a quick cleaning round and they are sparkling again," Kelly added.
