Five steps

Turn your sweater inside out and immerse it ' m in cold water with a few tablespoons of white vinegar in it. Make sure all fibers are submerged, remove your sweater after 15 minutes and drain. While the sweater is still wet, gently massage a little conditioner into the fibers. Avoid stretching and do not use a cheap conditioner. That is because it often contains wax and that can make your sweater look less beautiful. Leave the conditioner on the fibers of your sweater for 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Gently press the excess water out of the sweater. Be careful not to stretch the item of clothing. Let your sweater dry flat on a towel. Once your sweater is completely dry, fold it neatly. Then put it in a large zippered pocket. Now place your sweater in the freezer and let it sit in it overnight. In the morning: no more itchy jumper!

Why does it work? The vinegar and conditioner soften the fibers, while freezing prevents the shorter fibers from sticking out.

Allergic

Before you start working with your sweater, always check which fabric your sweater is made of. It is possible that you are allergic to the natural fibers. And if this is the case, no amount of weeks and freezing will help you.
