Honesty is often seen as a positive trait, but it can also be detrimental when you share a painful truth or opinion with someone. It is therefore important that you know the difference between honesty and being rude or rude.

What do you achieve with it?

An honest person will only share his opinion if the situation is about it asks. Always consider whether your opinion is helpful in the situation. If someone makes a big mistake, you can honestly tell this to warn them. However, if someone cannot change a situation, it is not always useful if you speak negatively about the situation.

Silence is gold

When it comes to taste, you can do better keep your negative opinion to yourself unless asked. For example, if you don't like someone's outfit at all, it is very cheeky to state this unsolicited. However, if a person asks for your opinion, you can give an honest answer. It is easier for you to share your opinion with good friends or a partner, because you already have a special bond and feel better about what is appropriate.

Be diplomatic

When you share unpleasant information , it is always wise to be diplomatic. Coarse words such as "ugly" or "stupid" can be very hurtful. Try to use words that are fair but less painful. For example, indicate that you do not find certain colors to match. This way you can achieve the same without hurting the other person.
