Straight and fine hair

Do: wash your hair more often Your routine for healthy hair starts with how you clean it. Because fine and straight hair can quickly become fat, it can help to wash your hair every day or every other day. This depends on your hair texture. In addition, choose a shampoo that cleans your hair, without removing your hair from moisture. This is what your locks need.

Don't: use too much conditioner Conditioner is crucial for maintaining long and strong hair. This is because it restores hydration, leading to softer and more resilient locks. In addition, it detangles your hair, which in turn prevents hair breakage. But if you have a fine hair texture, watch out for too much conditioner. This can cause your hair to look greasy.

Tip: watch out for tying your hair too tightly. This does not mean that you can no longer wear a tail or bun, but do not tie your hair too tightly. This will prevent your hair from breaking off.

Wavy hair

Don't: use a heat tool too often We understand: it is not steep and it is not curly. But if you use a heat tool too often, you can easily damage your hair. In addition, hair expert Devin Toth, hairdresser from NYC's Salon SCK, states that your curling iron and / or straightener will eventually cause more frizz and that your natural texture can change if you use it too often. So don't use it too often.

Tip: sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase (this also helps with all hair textures). It reduces friction of your hair, so it breaks down less quickly and you are free of fluffy hair. A win-win!

Curly hair

Do: mix different products together

Maintain your curls by mixing moisturizing and nourishing products. For example, mix your moisturizing curl cream with a leave-in with heat protection, for the perfect curl definition.

Don't: overdo your hair

Give your curls the attention they need to have? Nothing wrong with that, but limit it. The use of too many products, so that you automatically have a lot of trouble with your hair, can lead to hair breakage. Therefore, try to keep it minimal for strong and healthy curls.

Tip: If you feel that your curls look less bouncy, try a moisturizing conditioner and hair mask. Leave your mask on for three to five minutes longer than it says on the label. This does not provide more resilience, but also helps prevent hair fractures.
