There are people who detest the word routine because they prefer to be free and 'go with the flow'. Perhaps these free birds would scratch their heads if they learned that a daily routine is good for mental and physical health and productivity. The following routine tips can help you spend your days with more energy, motivation, and focus:
For a good bedtime routine, it's important to get the same amount of sleep every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Turn off all your electrical appliances half an hour before you go to sleep and read a book, write in your diary or make a 'to do' list for the next day. To fall asleep quietly, you can listen to a 'white noise' background noise or sprinkle some drops of lavender oil on your pillow.
Start your day with a glass of water . Try to eat protein during breakfast for a satisfied feeling during the day. This could be eggs, cottage cheese or a large dot of peanut butter or almond butter over your bowl of oatmeal.
Keeping moving is extremely important for your mental and physical health. If you are not used to exercising, you can slowly build up a routine in the following way: try to be physically active for 20 minutes three days a week, for example by walking with an accelerated pace. If you keep this up for six weeks you will feel that you have more energy across the board.
