Being asked about your weaknesses during a job interview is often a bit of a shock, but this feared question can help you prove yourself. By giving these five answers, you impress your (hopefully) future employer.

1. I'm too critical

Being critical, especially about yourself, is often not a negative trait at all. It shows that you want to do a good job and that you want to get the best out of yourself.

2. I prefer to solve problems myself

An employer will always want a candidate who is not afraid of being absorbed in work and accepting new challenges. But it is also important to say that you are able to work in teams so that you can show that you have no problems getting started with your new colleagues.

3. I can be careful about taking risks

Some industries place more value on taking risks than others, but caution is often a 'weakness' that you can use to your advantage. Being cautious about taking risks gives you the chance to show that you are willing to consult others before you make a decision, even if it takes a little longer than making a quick judgment.

4. I get nervous when speaking in front of large groups

Speaking in front of an audience is generally considered a nerve-racking experience. But make sure that you give examples of times when you have overcome the weakness and be clear that you are willing to do it again.

5. I often get too impatient when something goes slow

Be careful with this one. If you answer that you sometimes get impatient because of a lack of progress, it may mean that you are bored if the work is 'slow'. But it is an excellent opportunity to prove that you are an efficient worker. So make sure that you formulate this weak characteristic well.
