Why spend hundreds of euros on an expensive weekend in Paris, Lisbon or Rome? There is so much to discover in our own little frog country. Also saves a lot of travel time, which is extra handy if you are going on a spontaneous weekend. This time we explore Breda and we have listed some of the nicest places for you.

To do…

One loves it and the other abuses it : reptiles. If you belong to the first species, then Reptile House De Aarde might be something for you. Very small-scale, but the employees are very enthusiastic and therefore you can entertain yourself. Beware if you don't like reptiles that much, the employees sometimes want to get the animals out of their enclosures. Maybe a great moment to protect your girlfriend very heroically?

Have a bite to eat ...

Since 2005, restaurant Wolfslaar has been operating every year awarded a Michelin star. Chef Maarten Camps creates works of art that are also very tasty. He prefers to use local products, sometimes even from his own vegetable garden. Now eating out in a starred restaurant does have a price tag, of course, but you have to pay for it.

For a drink ...

< De Beyerd is a café, restaurant and brewery all in one. It has been a household name in Breda and the surrounding area for forty years. There are almost 150 beers on the menu, including additional information. So if you want to try them all out, then you will still be sweet for a while. Incidentally, the café also gets high marks every year, twice already De Beyerd was in first place in the Café Top 100 election.

Staying the night… < / h2>

You can of course stay overnight in one of the large hotels in Breda. If you are looking for more atmosphere, then Stadslogement Breda might be something for you. A bed & breakfast in a building from the early 1900's, with two rooms that both look beautiful. The Vide even has a wonderful bathtub in the room. Also handy, there are two bicycles that you can use to explore the city.

You might also like it ...

Are you still on on Sunday morning recovering from your hangover? Where could it be better in the Bierreclame Museum! Another day is not even possible, because Sunday is the only time that this mini-museum is open (11 am - 11 pm). The name actually betrays what you can expect: lots of different beer advertisements over the years. If you get thirsty from all these works of art, because there are some gems in between ... Of course there is also a bar for a beer or two.
