You can be selfish at this time

Do you often have difficulty choosing a fun series or movie to watch with another? That may have something to do with the fact that you are not selfish enough. Research showed that you can make better joint choices if one of you is a little selfish.
For a study, participants had to watch a number of comic videos and indicate how much fun they were they found every video. A questionnaire was also used to find out how selfish each participant is. A few weeks later, the participants were reselected and divided into pairs. The couples were given the task of selecting a video to watch together.
Opposites can choose better
The experiment has shown that people who are both selfish or selfless are both more difficult to choose a video that they really like. The problem is that selfish couples cannot agree and therefore ultimately choose a video that they both don't want so much. Selfless couples, on the other hand, want to satisfy each other by choosing something they don't really like, but they overestimate how much the other person's taste differs. The most successful couples consist of one selfish and one selfless person. They choose the videos that best match their tastes.
It is possible that the same applies to all kinds of activities such as choosing a restaurant or holiday destination. It may be wise to alternate who may be selfish so that you both get the chance to take the lead.
